Diego Torres with Ruben Blades “Hoy Es Domingo”

Argentine Latin pop singer Diego Torres recently released the nice song and video “Hoy Es Domingo” where he teams with Ruben Blades in this festive Salsa tune I include below.

Diego Torres and Ruben are two of the same kind. Both are accomplished singer-songwriters, both are actors, and both like to do their music a bit differently than the rest.

“Hoy Es Domingo” should be the prelude to what should be Diego Torres’ 8th studio album, and he puts together a festive and positive Salsa song. With the help of Panamanian veteran star Ruben Blades, they deliver a positive message of family and friendship. If the song is good, the video does a super job of illustrating the musical message. This should come as no surprise as both singers are proven and experienced actors.

I’ve noticed that this festive theme in songs has been increasing in popularity in recent years. Marc Anthony’s “Vivir La Vida”, and Victor Manuelle’s “Que Suenen Los Tambores” are recent examples of these. These songs are very catchy and quickly become very popular, so I expect no less for Diego Torres’ “Hoy Es Domingo”.
